Real Valuable Skills in The Future

People have experienced the pain of loss of jobs due to the pandemic. Even after we overcome the virus, things won’t magically get back to normal.

The AIs are coming. Hard skills won’t be so valuable in the future and instead, people around the world will agonize to come up with a wonderful creation of themselves by squeezing their creativity to earn money. Hard skills, a skill in a specific area, will no longer be as valuable as it is now. Do you envy someone because she got a lot of certificates and licenses? Well, don’t. Most of those works will be taken over by AIs in the pretty near future. What’s really valuable is doing something that only humans can do.

A soft skill, that is. Soft skills are basically the overall competence of a human. Such as social skills, communication skills, personality traits, and social intelligence. Those are what we can hardly replace with anything, at least for now.

When we meet a problem in a real-life, robots can’t help us with it. Cleaning robots are only able to tidy the mess, Doctoring robots can only relieve patients’ illnesses but they can’t come up with a solution to make ‘Jonney’ feel better.

People won’t be allowed to stay lazy anymore. There will be no more jobs where you peel off the garlic all day without even thinking and get paid. You really got to bring yourself out and talk to people. Solve problems and constantly stimulate your brain. Create something new, unique, and unbelievable. That’s the future of us, humans.
