Can Anyone Help My Brother?

My brother loves to help people. He is a really nice guy. But I guess you can’t be that way in California. My brother and his wife allowed 2 homeless women to move into their small home in Anaheim. He paid for a storage unit for their belongings. He paid their cell phone bill. He gave them free use of his home and made them feel a part of the family. Now, since he has retired and he would like to move to Texas to enjoy a lower cost of living, he put his house on the market, sold it and put down a deposit on a nice big house in Texas.

But wait, he can’t! The 2 women refuse to move out, and even though they pay no rent, because of crazy California custom, these ladies are holding my brother’s family hostage in their own house. Their refusal to move out could block the sale of their house, force them to lose their deposit and not be able to buy their new house. They have been asked to leave. They have been offered cash to leave. But no, these ladies have the audacity to stay on no matter what. They have done mean tricks to my brother and his wife, and even spread untruthful rumors.

Is there any room for justice? Is there any such thing as property ownership? Can anybody do anything? Please let me know…
