Week 2: Discussion — Walking through walls

A disturbing observation I found in this video was how they cut into the streets of the urban city just for the sake of “letting the tanks in.”

From this article, It talks about how there are many ways in looking at an architectural space, depending with experience and understanding, most of us interpretation of things are different, but architecturally, most of us view it the same, ie a door is to separate one space from another.

Instead of moving through a space like walls, border and laws, soldiers opposed it, turning the city in a three-sixty manner, forming new routes cutting into walls after walls.

Putting myself in the shoes of a local Palestinian member, how unfortunate would it feel suddenly seeing a wall in your house being hammered down, or run through by a grenade? Then without being mentally prepared, you are locked up within a room inside “your” property. So then, what is a private space?
