Can you stop criminal activity during a pandemic with social media?

Police nationwide ask criminals to stop bad behavior during the coronavirus outbreak.

During a time of social isolation, a number of police departments in the US are using social media posts to thwart criminal activity — sort of.

Through a series of funny, tongue-in-cheek posts police in Oregon, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Utah, and Washington have called on criminals to take a day off.

Police departments across the nation are reducing in-person responses during the outbreak to limit community spread, maintaining they will respond to emergencies only. The inability to wipe your butt is not one of these qualified emergencies.
